The main characters are Tristan of St. Albans, and Celia. Tristan was aboard a ship that ran into a storm and when the ship was destroyed he washed up on a beach. He then meets Celia and he is instantly attracted to her. He was with two other people on the ship and had no idea where they were. He went with celia and her men through the woods and tristan soon found out she was being tracked down by the high counsel of the land. Shortly after he is with celia the two people he was separated with found him and engaged celia and her men because they thought tristan was being held hostage. After tristan called off his friends and explained thing they joined together until the high counsel was closing in on them and they left on their horses. The two groups of people decided to go there seperate was so tritian and the two people could find a way home. Then tristan felt he had to go find celia to help her and he found one of her men taking his last breath and sweared to him that he would go help celia. Tristan and the two people traveled to the fortress celia was hiding in and joined forces with them. Tristan wa driven to do this so bad because he felt a strong connection to celia.
The high counsel and the templar group tristan was in was a true group of people from history. “My name is Tristan of St. Albans. I was attached to a templar regimento in outremer. This quote represents the templars and where they were located in history. “We have no love for the templars , servants of their cowardly Pope. this quote shows how others felt towards the templars. “Praise Allah” this quote represents their religious beliefs. Three sources on the back of the book spoke greatly of this book. The book was successful in getting good word about it.
